Carve 52, a new eatery created by Bobby Simone, has recently opened at 52 East State Street in Doylestown, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The sandwich shop offers hot and cold pork, roast beef, and turkey sandwiches bursting with bold, savory flavor. Each sandwich is packed with fresh, off-the-bone meat and comes topped with items like broccoli rabe, cheese, arugula, long hots and more.
The bread is what shines at this tasty spot, made fresh in a local bakery specifically for Carve 52.
“Everything is fresh off the bone,” said Simone. “No luncheon meats. Everything we sell is made fresh. So please come in and fill your belly.”
Simone took his time finding the best ingredients, spending five months looking for the best rolls and six months for the best meat.
When asked why Simone decided to open a sandwich shop, he said, “I’m a sandwich guy and I come from Northeast Philadelphia, where sandwiches are a big thing. If you gave me a choice of eating a filet mignon or a sandwich, I’d take the sandwich. I just love sandwiches.”
Customers can choose from a selection of soup options, such as beef barley, lentil and escarole. Add-ons like macaroni salad and cole slaw are also available.
Simone said that he’s hoping to introduce more sandwich options in the near future, along with fresh Italian Gelato.
