Six Months After Deadly Jet Crash, Northeast Philadelphia Community Begins to Mend

While the impact of the deadly crash in Northeast Philadelphia is still felt six months later, the community has begun to rebuild and heal.

While the impact of the deadly jet crash in Northeast Philadelphia is still visible and deeply felt six months later, the community has begun to rebuild and heal, write Hayden Mitman and Brian Sheehan for NBC10 Philadelphia.

The plane went down along Cottman Avenue just after 6 p.m. on January 31, 2025. The crash killed all six people aboard, including a young patient and her mother, along with two Philadelphia residents on the ground. It also caused dozens of injuries and damaged many buildings around the crash site.

Vanessa Graham, who lives in the area, is just now getting her roof repaired after being damaged in the accident. But other damage, less visible and harder to fix, still lingers.

“Emotionally it’s affected me,” said Graham. “I don’t know, like, maybe until when my house is repaired, when everything is done, so we will go back to normal, and life will be different.”

Greg Ott, whose offices were destroyed by jet fuel and plane debris, is grateful the damage was not worse.

“I said it repeatedly that I can replace bricks and sticks,” he said. “We were so fortunate.”
