When it comes to roller-grill hot dogs, you apparently can’t beat Wawa or 7-Eleven, writes Chuck Ulie for CSP.
In honor of National Hot Dog Day July 16, a Gunther Volvo Cars Daytona Beach poll asked 3,006 drivers and truckers nationwide where they get their favorite roller-grill hot dog.
Wawa and 7-Eleven dominated the results, but Buc-ee’s snuck in there as well.
“For millions of drivers, a gas station break isn’t just about refueling the tank,” the Daytona Beach, Florida-based company said. “It’s about refueling the body, too.”
Wawa and 7-Eleven took nine of the top 10 spots. Buck-ee’s came in 10th.
Some specific Wawas that got noticed with comments in the survey include:
- Wawa, Arch Street, Philadelphia. “Grab one on the way to a Sixers game, load it with peppers, and try not to drop it in the subway stairwell.”
- Wawa, Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, New Jersey. “They’re big, salty, and hit like a truck after a long shift. No judgment here—just you, your snack and a packet of spicy mustard.”
- Wawa, West Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa, Florida. “It’s a pit stop for construction crews in the morning and rideshare drivers at midnight. Grab a bun.”
