PECO is urging eligible customers to apply now for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) before the application deadline on April 18. This federally funded program provides grants of up to $1,000 to help income-qualified households pay their energy bills. Assistance is available while funds last and is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Energy affordability remains a priority for PECO, and the company is committed to advocating for financial relief programs and connecting customers to the assistance they need. Last year, LIHEAP helped approximately 38,000 PECO customers, providing nearly $15 million in assistance. This year, PECO is encouraging customers who are eligible for LIHEAP funding to apply so they do not miss out on this critical support.

“Many families have relied on LIHEAP to manage their energy costs,” said Nicole LeVine, PECO’s Chief Operating Officer. “Programs like LIHEAP offer real relief, but the deadline is approaching. Customers must act now to take advantage of this assistance while funding is still available this year.”

Customers can apply for LIHEAP funding at PECO or by calling 800-34-HELP4.

PECO recognizes the concerns about increasing costs and the economic challenges many are facing right now and wants to make certain customers understand all the options available for bill payment, including access to other available assistance programs, in addition to LIHEAP. Customers can visit PECO to utilize its Assistance Finder for personalized recommendations that best meet their energy assistance needs.

In addition to LIHEAP, customers can take additional steps to reduce their energy costs and get support:

  • Customers can use MyAccount to track their energy usage, set up alerts, and receive tips on how to lower their bills.
  • Increase energy efficiency by visiting PECO’s Ways to Save to schedule energy assessments and identify available rebates and incentives.
  • Explore other financial assistance programs to help manage energy bills.

Customers can contact PECO at 800-494-4000 to discuss payment arrangements or visit PECO to learn more about their bill, energy assistance programs, and more.
