Immaculata University Music Major Selected as Presser Scholar

Olivia Baker '25, a Music Therapy major at Immaculata University, receives the Presser Foundation’s 2024-25 Undergraduate Scholar Award.

The Immaculata University Music Department’s Olivia Baker ’25 is the recipient of the Presser Foundation’s 2024-25 Undergraduate Scholar Award.

The scholarship award is designed to encourage and support the education of a music student who has achieved a high level of musical and academic excellence, demonstrated leadership and service, and contributed to an inclusive community. The award is in the amount of $3,000.

Baker, a music therapy major at Immaculata, distinguishes herself with her vocal talent. She serves as a leader for two campus musical groups: President of the Mighty Muse and Vice President of the newly formed Immacapella. She is also involved with the Cue & Curtain theater group. Her exemplary performance led to her induction into the Pi Kappa Lambda Honor Society, honoring superior achievements in music and academics.

“This prestigious award is given to a student who continuously shows remarkable academic and musical leadership and accomplishment. It gives me great pleasure to recognize exceptional students like Olivia Baker,” said Joseph Gehring, Chair of Immaculata’s Music Department. “She will make a wonderful music therapist.”

Originally from Paducah, Ky., Baker graduated from McCracken County High School before studying Music Therapy at Immaculata University.
