Doylestown to Get Its First Behavioral Health Crisis Center in Bright Path Center

Construction is well underway on Bright Path Center, Doylestown’s first-of-its-kind behavioral health crisis center, which is expected to open early next year.

Construction is well underway on Bright Path Center, Doylestown’s first-of-its-kind behavioral health crisis center, which is expected to open early next year, writes Lacey Latch for the Bucks County Courier Times.

The $15 million, 22,000-square-foot center will be operated by Lenape Valley Foundation staff and will be located next to their outpatient office along North West Street.

The new center will provide around-the-clock care for people who require urgent mental health or substance abuse care. It will feature on-site detox services, along with residential units for adults and adolescents.

The project is a collaboration between several local and state organizations, including Lenape Valley Foundation, Doylestown Health, Bucks County Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Programs, the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Magellan Behavioral Health, and NAMI Bucks County.

The center has been fully funded through grants and donations.

“It’s going to look like a lodge,” said Lenape Valley CEO Dave Herold. “It’s just going to be so much more of a therapeutic and wholesome place to be than what feels like an institutional setting.”

Bright Path Center will employ around 85 people.
