Airport Adds Volunteer Navigators to Welcome International Travelers

PHL will have Volunteer Navigators in place to greet and help international visitors arriving at Philadelphia International Airport for the 2026 World Cup and other planned celebrations in Philadelphia.

An influx of international visitors to the Philadelphia region is expected for the FIFA Club 2025 World Cup, the 2026 World Cup, and other celebrations in the city in 2026.

The first impression for millions of visitors will probably be the Philadelphia International Airport.

To make sure they are greeted warmly, the airport is introducing the Volunteer Navigators Program, reports Travel and World Tour.

Fans, teams, and other international travelers will arrive off their flights and be greeted by a friendly, informed, and welcoming face at every airport terminal.

The trained Volunteer Navigators will guide visitors, answer travel-related questions, and provide personal recommendations for dining, shopping, and touring Philadelphia.

Travelers Aid International manages the program.

The airport is recruiting enthusiastic locals to participate.

“Great volunteers are invaluable assets for the airport,” said Leah Douglas, PHL Director of Guest Experience. “PHL’s volunteers show dedication and commitment to making Philadelphia a welcoming and better place for visitors and connecting travelers from across the states and around the world.”

Volunteers work at least one hour per week, in one of three available shifts: morning, afternoon, and evening.

Those fluent in multiple languages are especially encouraged to apply so the airport can serve a diverse global population.
