When people enter to dine at a.kitchen+bar in Rittenhouse Square, it’s easy to get lost in the delicious international dishes, but it’s wine is what really sets it apart from many other eateries, writes Julia Larson for Wine Spectator.
The restaurant has a list of about 350 wines.
According to wine director Frank Kinyon, to make the list the wine should have minimal ingredients. Specifically, that would include grapes, native yeasts, and in some cases, some added sulfur.
Each wine at a.kitchen is organically produced, while biodynamic bottles are prioritized. The wines are then categorized by style, such as minerally white wines, herbaceous red wines, and skin-contact wines.
To further its emphasize on wine, a.kitchen also has a wine program that is available throughout the day. It pairs specific wines along with certain bistro dishes.
To this end, a.kitchen also has a wide selection of dishes to choose from.
Some of the plates include the cheeseburger with cornichons, American cheese and Dijonnaise on a sesame bun and the foie gras torchon with hibiscus marmalade.
It’s dishes, combined with its wide selection of wines make a.kitchen a popular dine spot for many.
