Facility Paging Systems Keep Your Whole Team Informed

Anyone who’s worked in a manufacturing or warehouse environment knows communication in large spaces, often among loud machinery and vehicles, differs significantly from what their front-office counterparts experience. A message that might simply be delivered via a messaging app or email is often lost on these team members.

That’s why an effective and efficient overhead paging, announcement, and alert system is a key part of an industrial setting, said R.T. Chalfant, a senior account manager at Haverford Systems in Downingtown.

Large Space Communication

“We’ve worked with some of the largest manufacturers in the region to improve their communications systems and ensure all employees are kept informed, even in the noisiest or most remote parts of their facilities,” said Chalfant. “At the same time, we can set up conference rooms with the latest video conferencing technology, so the entire site stays connected.”

Many industrial systems consist of zoned paging and announcement systems throughout warehouses or factory floors, often using drop ceilings to camouflage the equipment. These systems can send pages, tones, background music, and pre-recorded emergency notifications to all zones and frequently include QSYS core/equipment and — depending on the size of the installation area — dozens of Atlas speakers.

Keeping Your Team Safe

But these systems do much more than just provide a vehicle for company announcements, Chalfant said. They can also become a key element of workplace safety, security, and emergency response.

“Using software like Informacast from Singlewire, we can link the announcement system to apps like Microsoft Teams, making it easy to push emergency notifications through the messaging app,” he said. “Not only are these messages immediately broadcast via the site announcement system, they also push notifications to anyone’s computer, interrupt Team Meetings, and can be linked to video displays in places like breakrooms and lobbies.”

Informacast can also be configured to alert emergency response dispatchers and immediately gather key decision-makers on a conference call. This versatility makes a site-wide announcement system not just a way to keep employees informed, but also a key element of a facility’s safety and emergency management system, Chalfant said.

Easy Installation from a Trusted Provider

“We understand the importance of workplace safety and communication, and that’s why we make these systems easy to install,” he said. “Given all the features available through the systems we install, it’s worth the investment to upgrade and make sure your teams are kept informed and safe.”

As trusted and locally owned audiovisual integration experts, Chalfant said the Haverford Systems team is happy to work with your company to determine the best fit for one or multiple manufacturing or warehouse locations.
