Christmas-themed bars have emerged as a new trend during the holiday season, writes Emily Kovach for PA Eats.

Beyond a mere string of lights and a few wreaths, these special establishments create a self-contained world of holiday glow, with good tidings, cozy drinks, indulgent snacks and a soundtrack to go with it all.

Here in Delaware County, you’ll find such a bar at Jingle on State at Sterling Pig in Media Borough.

The space at 609 W. State Street has been “holiday-ified” inside and out with lots of lights and tinsel, a perfect exterior locale for the obligatory Instagram photo.

Inside promises a special cocktail or brewski, holiday fun and Sterling Pig’s famed barbecue.

Jingle’s former host, State Street Pub at 37 E. State Street in Media, also offers a Gingerbread Pub pop-up nearby.

It’s Gingerbread Spirit Night at the Pub on Wednesday, Dec. 18 for an evening of fun and giving. A portion of your check will be donated to the Glenwood Elementary School Parent Teacher Group, wither you dine in or take out, according to State Street Pub’s Facebook page.
