DCCC Now Offers Culinary Arts Classes in Phoenixville
Delaware County Community College (DCCC) is bringing its award-winning Culinary Arts program to Phoenixville.
Registration is now open for classes that will start in January 2025 at the Phoenixville Area Senior Center (153 Church Street, Phoenixville).
Students will receive hands-on learning in a commercial kitchen from skilled chef instructors, right in the heart of Phoenixville’s thriving restaurant scene. The location — within walking distance of local restaurants — offers on-site parking as well as access to public transportation.
“We are thrilled to be offering another location to serve Chester County students,” said DCCC President Dr. Marta Yera Cronin. “It represents our commitment to providing greater accessibility to education to residents of both Delaware and Chester Counties.” The College also offers a range of programs at its other Chester County locations in Downingtown and West Grove, as well as in Delaware County in Marple Township, Upper Darby, and Sharon Hill.
While pursuing either an associate degree, a certificate, or a non-credit certificate in Culinary Arts, students can explore everything from baking to international cuisine, from menu planning to food service purchasing. DCCC Culinary Arts faculty bring real-world, high-end restaurant experience to the program. While competing against Chester County’s finest pastry chefs, DCCC students have won awards in the Chester County Community Foundation’s 2023 and 2024 “Sweet Charity” competitions.
Classes in Phoenixville will be offered on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-7:00 PM or 6-10:00 PM. The registration deadline is Jan. 10. For more information, including full program details, visit DCCC or call 610-359-5278.
