Two Bucks County Brands Make List of Nation’s 400 Largest Franchises
Two brands with Bucks County roots are among the 400 largest franchises in the United States, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The 2024 Franchise Times Top 400 ranked the largest franchise systems based in the U.S. according to their global systemwide sales.
Trevose-based Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa ranked at No. 108.
This 20-year-old company has numerous locations in the Philadelphia region. A total of 603 franchises throughout the U.S. and Canada reported combined sales of $709 million.
Another Bucks County brand that also made the list is Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard. The beloved water ice brand placed at No. 260.
Rita’s was founded in Bensalem and is now based in Trevose. It started franchising in 1989 and has 559 units, totaling almost $182 million in sales.
Overall, eight Greater Philadelphia-based franchises made the list. The King of Prussia-based Goddard School placed highest on the Franchise Times list at No. 63 nationally, with 627 schools and $1.4 billion in global sales.
The national list is topped by McDonald’s with $129.5 billion in sales across over 41,000 global locations.
