Investors Open First Federal Donuts and Chicken Radnor Restaurant

Federal Donuts & Chicken is regrouping after several of its franchise shops closed.

Federal Donuts and Chicken has opened its first brick-and-mortar Delaware County location in Radnor, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 1,250 square-foot space at 232 Radnor Chester Road seats 20 people. It employs about 10 people.

The restaurant’s close location to Radnor High School and Villanova University makes it an “ideal fit” for the brand, said franchisee Chris Magarity, COO of Park Avenue Cars.

He has partnered to buy Federal Donut restaurants with Park Avenue Cars owner Michael Sloane and Michael Heller, chairman and CEO of Crozen O’Connor.

Two other planned locations, in Willow Grove and Conshohocken, will open before the end of the year

The franchise investment group from the Radnor-based private equity firm NewSpring now owns a majority stake in the restaurant with nine suburban locations planned, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.

“It’s such a cool brand. It’s such a really well-respected brand in the Philadelphia area,” Heller said.
