For the second season in a row, the Philadelphia Phillies’ have had more than 3 million fans show up at Citizens Bank Park.

This year’s 3 millionth fan was a family—the Spitkos from Chadds Ford, writes Dave Uram for KYW Newsradio.

The family was greeted by a flock of balloons and confetti when they walked into Citizens Bank Park at about 5:30 PM for Tuesday’s game.

The Spitkos—Tom, Laura and their children 10-year-old Savannah and 7-year-old Trey, were honored with a seat upgrade by Phillies ticket executive John Weber to the CP Rankin Club behind home plate. The kids also received prize packs.

The family got a visit during the game from Phillies managing partner and CEO John Middleton, presenting them with tickets to Fan Appreciation Night, as well as tickets to next season’s home opener.

Tom called it a “beautiful recognition courtesy of their favorite baseball team.”

Before the game, manager Rob Thomson talked about reaching the 3 million mark for the second season.

“People want to see us and when they do they support us. It’s just been fantastic. The last three years have been incredible.”
