ChristianaCare to Open 2 Micro-Hospitals in Delaware County
The nonprofit ChristianaCare is partnering with Emerus Holdings Inc., a healthcare company, to open two micro-hospitals in Delaware County in 2025, reports Delaware Business Now!
The locations will be announced at a later date.
Each neighborhood hospital will be open 24/7 with 10 inpatient beds and a full-service emergency department.
The hospitals will be equipped to treat falls, injuries, heart attacks, and strokes. ChristianaCare also has medical airlift capabilities.
The hospitals will have diagnostic services, including ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), X-ray, and laboratory services.
Virtual specialist visits will also be available.
Finally, each location will have a health and wellness center with outpatient services developed based on community needs. Those services could include primary care, outpatient diagnostics, and other specialty services.
“We are excited to bring this new model of care to our neighbors in Delaware County,” said Janice Nevin, ChristianaCare CEO. “ChristianaCare is reimagining health care with a focus on delivering the right care, in the right place and time, with the right healthcare team involved for every patient.”
“Our goal is to make access to health care easy and convenient for our Delco and Chester County neighbors.”
