This prestigious designation required meeting 70 rigorous standards, including homemade dishes and educational initiatives for new chefs.
“We work with a good team of people focusing on quality of food,” says Chef Barberet.
Seasonal and Local Focus
The menu at Bistro Barberet is curated seasonally, drawing influences from across Europe, within the U.S., and local fare. Signature dishes include escargot, foie gras, and a New Orleans-inspired fish souffle named Quennelle.
These seasonal menus incorporate local ingredients, with summer offerings like schnitzels and seafood, and autumnal favorites like beef stew.
Vegetarian options, such as a pesto flatbread, ensure there’s something for everyone. The bistro’s cocktail menu changes with the seasons, featuring popular choices like the raspberry martini and a selection of absinthe drinks.
Special Events and Celebrations
Bistro Barberet & Bakery is known for its special events, including a Bastille Day celebration featuring gnocchi, lamb rack, and sausage. Additionally, the bistro hosts themed nights, such as lobster on Wednesdays, oyster on Thursdays, and occasional wine dinners.
