SEPTA has created something called the Bus Revolution, a total revamping of a bus service system that hasn’t been majorly overhauled since 1968, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia Magazine.
The changes will be implemented next year.
Here’s how things look in Delaware County under the new service.
Winners
Half hour service on Route 105 along Lancaster Avenue will be extended to Rosemont for riders from Haverford, Bryn Mawr, and Rosemont.
Route 112 bus service from the 69th Street Transportation Center to Delaware County Community College will run every 15 minutes.
Route 113 for residents of Lansdowne, Yeadon, Collingdale, Folsom, Holmes, and other Delaware County communities for that route will also run every 15 minutes.
Nearby Route 109, which mostly operates at 20-minute intervals will also be a 15-minute route.
Losers
Cheyney University students, faculty and staff are losing Route 120 which is being discontinued. The Cheyney campus will be served instead by an on-demand micro-transit system that covers the university and Painter’s Crossing, though the system at the moment is not officially listed.
Central Delaware County residents will no longer be able to use the Route 123 bus to get to King of Prussia. It’s being discontinued.
