Aqua Pennsylvania Replaces 8,650 Feet of Aging Water Mains in Delaware County
Aqua Pennsylvania is replacing 8,650 feet of aging water mains across Delaware County.
The company is upgrading aging water mains with ductile iron water mains, which are more durable and comprised of nearly 90 percent recycled materials.
This investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program to replace decades-old water and wastewater infrastructure around the country. The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and will improve water flow for customers throughout Delaware County.
In Upper Providence Township, crews are replacing 3,470 feet of aging water mains with new eight-inch ductile iron mains on the following streets:
· Dash Avenue between Valley View Road and the end of the road
· Pickering Lane between Dash Avenue and Old State Road
· Collins Avenue between Dash Avenue and Old State Road
· Gilbert Street between Collins Avenue and the end of the road
Crews are also working to replace 3,350 feet of aging water mains with new 8-inch ductile iron water mains in Sharon Hill and Folcroft Boroughs. The work is taking place on the following streets:
· Burton Lane between Chester Pike and Brainerd Boulevard
· Watson Road between Folcroft Avenue and Sharon Park Drive
· Sharon Park Drive between Watson Road and the end of the cul-de-sac
Further, crews are replacing 1,830 feet of aging water mains with new 24-inch ductile iron water mains in Springfield Township on the following roads:
· West Sproul Road between Beatty Road and State Road on-ramp
· Beatty Road between Bailys Run and West Sproul Road
