Property Club, a New York City property listing site, has listed a Delaware County community as the third safest community in Pennsylvania

The site posted information to people relocating to Pennsylvania and identified Swarthmore in a listing of the state’s safest communities.

Swarthmore ranked just below Murrysville and above West Mifflin.

Swarthmore has a population of 6,346. The crime rate in the city is 498 per 100,000, which is 79 percent lower than the national average.

Residents have a 1 in 206 chance of becoming victims of any crime, Property Club reported.

It also reported that the median home price in Swarthmore is $377,900, 105 percent higher than the national average.

“A popular point of interest is the Scott Arboretum which is part of Swarthmore College,” Property Club wrote.

It identified Collegeville as the safest community in Pennsylvania.

It also pointed out Pennsylvania’s wide variety of culture and geography, with Philadelphia in the east and hills, mountains, and scenic towns in the west.

“Many of the safest places to live in Pennsylvania are scenic mountain towns that offer spectacular views and winter sports. Overall, Pennsylvania is a diverse state that offers a little bit of everything,” the site noted.
