Pennsylvania’s Safest Towns Include 5 From Delaware County

Several Delaware County communities made a top 100 list of the safest towns in Pennsylvania.

Several Delaware County communities are ranked among 100 of Pennsylvania’s safest towns, according to a list put together by ElitePersonalFinance.

Among the 100 safest communities for 2024 so far, Marple Township came in 25th. With a population of 23,872, it had only four crimes reported since the start of the new year.

Aston Township, with a population of 16,708, ranked 74th.  It had six crimes reported. 

Newtown Township, with 13,571, ranked 76th, with five crimes reported.

Upper Providence Township, with 10,478, ranked 79th, with four crimes reported.

Haverford Township, with 49,422, ranked 97th, with 24 crimes reported.

In a separate ranking of 47 communities in Pennsylvania with over 30,000 residents, Haverford Township ranked the safest in Delaware County, coming in eighth out of the 47 for safety. 

Middletown Township, with 45,185, was 15th, with 33 crimes reported.

Ridley Township, with 21,190, ranked 19th, with 27 crimes reported.

Radnor Township, with 31,935, ranked 20th, with 31 crimes reported.

Chester was last on the list. With a population of 34,087, it ranked 47th, with 474 crimes reported.

The rankings come from FBI violent crime statistics divided by the population, multiplied by 1,000.
