For those looking for an alternative workout that bypasses the intimidation of a gym, LSF Pilates studio in Wayne may be what you need, reports Bob Kelly for Fox 29.

LSF Pilates is a boutique fitness studio that offers Pilates, physical therapy, and virtual fitness classes for all levels of fitness.

Owner Liz McKee discovered Pilates back in 2003 and received her certification to teach it at 19.  She’s had the studio now for 11 years.

“When you do something you love and make other people feel good, and they love it too, it’s a great feeling,” McKee said.

LSF stands for Lengthen, Strengthen and Flow, the underlying principles of Pilates.

Stretching, movement, concentration, and mindfulness are key to a Pilates workout, and LSF uses special machines to make that happen.

“You really can’t get these stretches from regular gym equipment,” McKee said.

LSF machines find “your weak areas and bring you back into balance so you can go through life pain-free,” she said.

McKee said her clientele has included NFL players and other athletes, but anyone from age 13 through their senior years, where strength and balance are emphasized, can do Pilates.
