European culture has come to a corner of Folsom through the father and son business of Caffeinato Deli and Panini, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

Khalil and Elias Yaacoub run the shop, which opened quietly last fall.  The business offers fresh food daily right in the neighborhood.

“In Europe, this is what we do,” Khalil explained. “We walk to the small neighborhood market and get what we need for lunch or dinner. The bread is always fresh, and so is the produce, and the owners know you by name and ask about your family.”

Caffeinato has a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, fresh salads, and beverages like San Pellegrino sparkling water and soda, and Lavazza coffee. There is also a selection of groceries.

Khalil came to appreciate the simplicity of good food and good company from his years living in Italy hanging out at the corner store “and I want to introduce the community here to this memorable, satisfying experience at Caffeinato.”

He helped open several restaurants at the Philadelphia International Airport between 2008 and 2017 before opening his place in Folsom, which was previously Walt’s Folsom Market.
