A Bank of America Newtown Square branch is opening by the end of 2025, part of a $47 million investment over the next two years to add new branches and renovate existing ones in the Philadelphia region, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.
The region will see five more Bank of America branches by the end of 2025, including the Bank of America Newtown Square branch at 3483 West Chester Pike between July and September.
Three more branches will be announced and opened by the end of 2025.
Bernard Hampton, managing director and consumer banking executive, said the bank will conduct interior and exterior renovations at dozens of locations in 2024 and 2025.
“Beyond just being simply more inviting, we want our offices to be able to support advice, guidance, and conversation,” said Hampton.
With renovations comes the ability to put more specialists in front of clients, he said.
Bank of America had shrunk its Philadelphia-area branch count by 44 percent from 122 to 68 and has filed to close a Drexel Hill branch since it entered the regional market in 2004 after acquiring Fleet Bank.
