There were some pretty amazing homes that went up for sale in 2023 in Greater Philadelphia, including one unique Delaware County home.

A list of the most viewed properties for sale compiled by the Philadelphia Business Journal includes Lakewood Drive in Media, writes Ryan Mulligan for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The 12,000-square-foot mansion is off Providence Road along Springton Reservoir. It has seven bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.

The 3.4-acre property includes a pool, a large patio and entertainment space and a number of inside amenities.

At one time, the property belonged to Philadelphia Phillies legend Mike Schmidt. He bought the property for $490,000 in November 1979, a year before the Phillies 1980 World Series Championship.

Schmidt, a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, sold the home in 1992 to Rainer Westphal and his wife, Antoinette, for an undisclosed price.

The Westphals founded Vertex Inc., a King of Prussia-based tax technology software company. Valued at $3.4 billion.  

The Media property listed for $4.975 million in April. It was taken off the market in June and relisted in September for $3.995 million.

The listing was removed again in December.
