A lovingly restored Echo Valley Farm offering over 11,000 feet of living space is available for sale in Newtown Square, writes Ronnie Polaneczky for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The historic property was acquired by Christy Eichinger and her husband not long before the pandemic hit. At the time, Eichinger believed she was done with being a stay-at-home mom and restoring the 1708 property was the perfect outlet for the energy she once poured into child-rearing.

The former granary at the farm was converted into a main house.

The big barn became a pub-style recreation space.

Meanwhile, separate milk and hay houses became snug cottages.

Eichinger made sure to preserve the historic charm of the property while also updating it with modern amenities.

“The property reminded me of farms in Belgium,” she said.

When the pandemic shut down the world, all three of her children returned home, two of them with their partners. With the two cottages and an apartment in the main house, the property was able to fit them easily.

In their free time, the family hung out in the barn and at the in-ground pool.

Now that the kids have moved away once again, Eichinger is ready to sell the property and join them.
