Restaurateurs Philip and Kate Ferro, the owners of Chadds Ford Tavern and Kings Tavern in Coatesville, are expanding, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Together with their investors Chet Patel and Garry Hesselbacher, the pair are planning for an April opening of Main Line Tavern in Paoli.

All three eateries are part of Five Star Restaurant Group, the Ferros’ restaurant management company.

Main Line Tavern will open in the space that was previously occupied by the Great American Pub Paoli, which closed its doors for good in October.

According to Ferro, he and his partners want to bring a more casual, American restaurant to the upscale Main Line.

“The area is a lot of arugula, microgreens, and lemon juice, as we say,” said Ferro. “We think the area needs a tavern, an everyday place where people can come and relax. So, that’s what we’re shooting for, the homestyle feel, the comfortable atmosphere…”

The new location will have a similar menu to the Chadds Ford Tavern. It will include steaks, seafood, and sandwiches, along with other items.
