Aqua Pennsylvania is gearing up to start water main replacement projects to improve service and reliability for customers in Aston and Ridley townships.

The company is replacing approximately 7,500 feet of aging water mains across Delaware County and upgrading aging water mains with ductile iron water mains, which are more durable and comprised of nearly 90 percent recycled materials.

This investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program to replace decades-old water and wastewater infrastructure nationwide. The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and will improve water flow for customers throughout Delaware County.

In Aston Township, crews are replacing 3,900 feet of aging water mains with new 8-inch ductile iron mains on the following streets:

·         Sickles Dive between Lenni Road and Caroline Drive

·         Caroline Drive from Erb Drive to the end of the cul-de-sac.

·         Erb Drive from Caroline Drive to the end of the cul-de-sac.

Crews are also working to replace 3,600 feet of aging water mains with new 8-inch ductile iron water mains in Ridley Township. The work is taking place on the following streets:

·         Secane Road between Franklin Avenue and Quaint Street.

·         Franklin Avenue between Quince Lane and Howard Road.

·         Dale Road between Secane Road and Franklin Avenue.

Aqua’s main replacement work contributes to the company’s overarching commitment to providing quality, reliable drinking water, and safe wastewater solutions to customers.
