Allison Cawley was able to create the perfect Philadelphia Eagles fan cave in the basement of her Haveford home.

There was no way Allison Cawley of Haverford wasn’t going to be a Philadelphia Eagles fan, writes Paul Jablow for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Not after she was driven around Veteran’s Stadium at 8 or 9 in the cart that carried the giant Eagles helmet every time the Eagles scored.

“To be that close to the action when you’re a little kid, that hooks you. From then on, football was an every week thing,” Cawley said.

In 2019, the Eagles were on her mind when she started scoping out homes for her and her mother.

Cawley found the perfect home in Haverford, with the perfect Philadelphia Eagles fan cave basement.

Her decorating was helped along by the Eagles merchandising machine.

The basement has Eagles barstools, easy chairs, a wine rack, a fridge, and a gum machine, for starters.

There are player’s helmets, autographed pictures and a discarded glove left by center Jason Kelce on the visitor’s locker room floor in Atlanta, sent to Cawley by a social media friend.

The Eagles fight song is stenciled by Cawley on the basement steps.

She cautions that the basement is not a museum.

“When there’s no football game, it’s a party place,” she said.
