A Drexel Hill author wrote his first children’s book, a picture book for parents and children that celebrates being different, being accepted, and being loved, reports Todd Haas for 6abc.

Nikki Rineholt, who is autistic, wrote “My Little Me” to show others who feel different and who may be autistic themselves that they are not alone.

“It was heavily inspired by my relationship with my daughter, who is also neurodivergent,” Rineholt said.

Rineholt has a Kickstarter campaign and has already exceeded his fundraising goal of $1,000, with $1,196 raised so far.

“My Little Me” is a children’s book told by a father or mother about their child and the difficulties of being different.

“It’s a story of acceptance, love, and understanding,” Rineholt said, heavily influenced by experiences from both his daughter and him and others who go through life feeling different.

“I originally wrote this as a bedtime story for my daughter,” Rineholt explained on Kickstarter. “It was so well received by her that I began sharing it with friends and cohorts on the internet. It was seemingly unanimous. “My Little Me” should be a real-life children’s book.”

The book is slated for a 2024 release on Amazon and in brick-and-mortar stores.
