First Bank House of the Week: A Queen Anne Victorian in Lansdowne
A beautiful Queen Anne Victorian house on 0.49 charming acres with six bedrooms and two-and-a-half-bathrooms is available for sale in Lansdowne, writes Paul Jablow for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Kaaron Ruza first bought the lovely home in 1984. It had been vacant for years.
“I was the only one crazy enough to buy it,” joked Ruza, a retired chief nuclear technologist at the University of Pennsylvania.
This Queen Anne Victorian house was built in 1890, and it had so many intriguing details that guests needed a long time just to look over the whole place after arriving.
The three-story residence boasts circular windows, gabled roofs, a turret, and a lovely wraparound porch.
The first floor has two parlors, a dining room with heavy moldings, and a well-appointed kitchen.
Three bedrooms are on the second floor, along with a “turret room” that could be a bedroom or office.
Meanwhile, the third floor could become an in-law suite with its second kitchen, bath, bedroom, and family room.
The property includes a carriage house with a versatile upper level.
Read and see more of this house at 425 S Lansdowne Avenue in Lansdowne, listed for $529,000 in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
