The Kelce’s Have Arrived. People Are Naming Dogs After Them
The Kelce name is getting tossed about a lot these days, but now it’s apparently the No. 1 trending dog name in America, writes Emily Bloch for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
That’s according to the pet-sitting site Rover. It’s finding that 135 percent more Americans named their dogs Kelce this year compared to last year.
It’s no wonder. The Kelce name is all over social and regular media between the Kelce brothers’ Super Bowl appearances, their successful podcast, the blossoming relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, a new Prime Video documentary on Jason Kelce, Saturday Night Live appearances, and various other NFL-sanctioned activities and commercials.
Kelce-related dog names showed up earlier this year when a pair of rescue puppies from North Carolina were named Taylor and Travis.
In 2019, Kelce was a Puppy Bowl contender. And ACCT Philly has a mixed breed named Kelce (after Jason, naturally) available for adoption right now.
For the record, though, Charlie remains the No. 1 male name overall for dogs, and Luna is No. 1 for females.
And while the Kelce name is trending, it still doesn’t break the top 100 dog names for 2023.
