First Bank House of the Week: Colonial With a Pond in Media

By

A Colonial with a pond outside of Media.
This Colonial with a pond just outside Media is available for sale.

It was not your typical real estate transaction, but it gave Theresa and Chuck Mulloy a house outside Media that was on land once occupied by the original Wawa dairy farm, writes Paul Jablow for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The three-bedroom, 2-5-bath center hall Colonial with a pond built in 1980 was actually owned by friends of theirs.

“We talked them into selling it to us,” Theresa joked.

That was almost exactly 30 years ago. The Mulloy’s ended up with a scenic, 2,146-square-foot home built on 1.23 acres.

Chuck had grown up on a small property in Drexel Hill and was intrigued by a property with space

But now, with two children grown, the Mulloys are selling and downsizing to Aston.

A unique feature of the property at 217 Valley Road is the fact it has a yard that comes with a pond.

Other features include a first-floor fireside family room, a living room with a large picture window, a kitchen with granite countertops, and a breakfast nook with a bay window.

The primary suite has a walk-in closet and a bathroom with double sinks and a deep whirlpool tub.

The Colonial with a pond at 217 Valley Road in Media is listed by Janice Goldhorn-Geraghty of RE/MAX Preferred – Newtown Square for $680,000.
