Longwood Gardens has repurchased the property previously home to the highly esteemed boutique winery, vineyard, and Airbnb getaway, Galer Estate, which spans 7.4 acres, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Kennett Square property is adjacent to Longwood, which originally owned the property before selling it in 2002.

The estate at 700 Folly Hill Road was then sold again in 2007 for just over $1 million to Brad and Lele Galer, the duo who opened the doors of the decorated winery in 2011.

The establishment collected 150 awards during its 12 years of operation, but the Galers felt that they accomplished all that they hoped to with their business.

While they hoped that the next buyer would continue the legacy as a vineyard and winery, a representative of Longwood Gardens said that it does not plan to return to operations.

Instead, the botanical destination acquired the property for preservation purposes.

The property consists of a main building including an old house dating back to before the American Revolution and a one-bedroom, one-bathroom cottage used as an Airbnb.
