Aqua Pennsylvania has recently completed replacing approximately 4,823 feet of aging water main in Haverford Township. The company upgraded aging water mains with ductile iron water mains, which are more durable and comprised of nearly 90 percent recycled materials.

This investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program to replace decades-old water and wastewater infrastructure around the country. The new water mains will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and will improve water flow for customers throughout Delaware County.

Crews replaced 4,823 feet of aging 6-and 8-inch water mains with new 6-inch, 8-inch and 12-inch ductile iron water mains on the following streets:

  • Cricket Avenue from #675 Cricket Avenue to East County Line Road
  • Clifford Avenue between Normandy and East County Line roads
  • Normandy Road between Ardmore and Aubrey avenues
  • Oakford and Berkley roads between Ardmore and Cricket avenues

Full road restoration should be complete by the end of October.

Aqua’s main replacement work contributes to the company’s overarching commitment of providing quality, reliable drinking water and safe wastewater solutions to customers.
