Children's Book World in Haverford is one of the participants in the Philly Bookstore Crawl.

Lovers of books who have a lot of energy can join an independent bookstore crawl Saturday, Aug. 26, by visiting more than two dozen participating bookstores in the Philadelphia area.

The crawl includes readings, local author book signings, pop-ups, discounts, and giveaways at the stores, writes Kristin Hunt for Philly Voice.

Children’s Book World, 17 Haverford Station Road in Haverford, is giving away free children’s books for the first three dozen kids.

The Philly Bookstore Crawl is the first of its kind, and there’s hope it will become a yearly tradition.

Other local participants are Du Bois-Robeson People’s Center, 4515 Baltimore Ave. in Haverford, and Main Point Books, 116 N. Wayne Ave., in Wayne.
