Delaware County Restaurants Take Wine Spectator Awards

Several Delaware County restaurants were part of a list of the best wine programs in the world compiled by Wine Spectator, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The restaurants are part of 46 from the Greater Philadelphia area that received  Wine Spectator’s 2023 Restaurant Awards.

Restaurants can earn awards in three categories:: Best of Award of Excellence, Award of Excellence, and Grand Award.

No Grand Award winners from the Philadelphia region were announced, but Delaware County did place in the Best of Award of Excellence category.  This is awarded to restaurants with 350 or more wine selections covering a variety of regions, styles, and vintages.

Taking that award for the first time was Teca Newtown Square, Cornerstone Bistro & Artisanal Market in Wayne also won Best of Award of Excellence.

The Award of Excellence goes to restaurants with “well-curated lists” and 90 or more wine selections. 

That honor went to Margaret Kuo’s Kitchen in Media and Wayne. There were 2,001 restaurants in this category.

More than 3,500 restaurants from all 50 U.S. states and more than 75 countries and territories earned awards this year.
