As chatbots and other forms of Artificial Intelligence become more popular, it can also impact your job search. Here is how an A.I. job search can either help — or hurt your job search.

Pros

Speeding Up the Process

Due to complex algorithms, employers are able to sift through hundreds of applications. This also reduces the time between when the job seeker applies and the first interview.

Personalized Matching

Some job boards use algorithms to match job seekers with a position that best fits what they are looking for. Recruiters can also search resumes to find applicants whose criteria fits the position they are seeking to fill.

Resume Help

ChatGPT helps job seekers create their own resumes and Cover Letters. AI-powered resume builders also suggest keywords for the jobseeker.

Cons

Increased Competition

Since crafting cover letters and resumes can be completed at a much faster rate, it also increases competition amongst job seekers. A.I. has leveled the playing field for people within the workforce.

Limit Personal Growth

Since jobseekers might rely a lot on AI to do the heavy lifting, they may not be able to build creative skills.

Biases

AI is not perfect and has often been criticized for having bias. Certain software might favor keywords and certain qualifications compared to others.
