Bangladeshi Couple Open Upper Darby Event Venue, Dhaka Club

“We’re a small country but our heart is big,” said Mahammad Ikbal.

He and his wife Miss Parven are bringing their Bangladesh culture to the region with a new event venue in Upper Darby and a new restaurant in Rittenhouse Square, reports Natalie Jason for 6abc.

The Upper Darby spot at 8919-8925 West Chester Pike is called Dhaka Club Party Center, named after the capital of Bangladesh.

The Dhaka Club is available for wedding showers, wedding ceremonies, baby showers, birthday parties, graduation parties, holiday parties, and conference meetings.

The couple promises a “smooth and successful” event that will create memories for the important people in your life. The rental facility assists with decorations and equipment to create the customer’s preferred theme and motif.

The club can hook you up with an event planner, a DJ, a photographer, or a videographer, and they offer catering.

Now the couple has a new Indian restaurant in Rittenhouse Square, the Royal Indian Cuisine, which opened after Mahammad’s wife convinced him to follow his passion.

“We love food and we love to sell food,” said Mahammad.

The couple met in their home country of Bangladesh, which borders India. They started their business ventures after the rise of Uber ended Mahammad’s taxi business.
