Here’s How Wayne’s Di Bruno Bros Could Benefit From Geospatial Data

Retail businesses bouncing back from the pandemic are taking advantage of cutting-edge geolocation technology and other data-driven strategies. This includes POI data (physical sites) and mobility data, which records how people interact with their surroundings, writes Geoff Michener for RetailWit.  

This information can help retailers choose locations for their businesses, personalize advertising, and develop competitive intelligence. Michener suggests that Wayne DiBruno Bros. use location data to figure out which businesses commuters (who use the nearby SEPTA station) are patronizing.  

He also says that the food specialty retailer could use data for advertising or also building partnerships with businesses that also serve SEPTA commuters.  

However, Michener warns retailers to be cautious. He says that while location data can be free or can be available online for purchase, there are some that are unvetted.
