After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Taiko drumming and dance make a triumphant return to West Chester University when Tamagawa University takes the stage on Tuesday, April 11, at 7 PM.

Tickets range in price from $12 – $25, and are now on sale to the public here or at 610.436.2266. The event takes place in the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building at 700 S. High Street.

Thundering Taiko drums and Japanese folkloric dance, in styles both modern and traditional, come together for a performance that is both athletic and graceful for a visually stunning display of art and artistry.

From the College of Arts in Tokyo, Tamagawa University has been touring the world since 1961, visiting Mexico, England, Greece, Canada, Malaysia, Russia, Indonesia, Africa, and the United States. The troupe has toured extensively on the East Coast, including performances at the Kennedy Center and the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
