Support Dog Missing for More Than a Year Returned to Sharon Hill Family

By

A grateful Sharon Hill family embraced Rusteze, an emotional support dog returned to them after disappearing for over a year, writes Chris O’Connell for Fox 29.

Back in February 2022, Christina Bolar and her 14-year-old son were desperate to find Rusteze, a Boston Terrier.

The little pup was her son’s best friend and never left his side, but on this occasion, he got out of the house and vanished.

“He’s a part of the family, but he’s also a part of his everyday life. We want him back. We just want him back,” Christina said, at the time.

The family lost hope as the months went by. Then this week, a Trainer police sergeant found a stray dog while on patrol.

Sgt. Rich Ostan saw a small, brown dog running toward a large highway, so he scooped him up and put him in the police car.

The dog was tracked to the stunned family from an SPCA-inserted microchip.

As to its whereabouts, the family thinks Rusteze was found by someone who didn’t look for the original owner.

At one point, the dog ran away again, possibly to get back to Christina and her son.
