Working remotely has its perks, but also setbacks. It can give employees the flexibility they need but can also be distracting. Whether you’re a traveler or just trying to get a change of scenery within your city, staying focused can serve as a challenge. John Boitnott from The Entrepreneur gives advice on how to stay focused.

Start a to-do list

Making a bulleted list of things you need to accomplish for the day helps give you a clear vision.  Before signing off, make another list of things you need to accomplish for the next day.

Planners

Whether physical or digital planners & calendars help keep your schedule readily available.

Create a workspace

No matter where you are, make sure that workspace has enough lighting and is comfortable. The correct space can determine your productivity.

Be prepared

If you’re in a place with inconsistent wifi, make sure that you have a backup plan. Bring extra chargers in case your devices run out of power and use a personal hotspot.

Plan meals

A lot of the day can be taken up with cooking and preparing meals. Prepping ahead of time and setting aside time to eat can keep your stomach satisfied and your mind focused.

Keep your work bag organized

Make sure you have everything you need, including devices and proper chargers, snacks and water.
