The owner of Carl’s Cards and Collectibles Inc. in Haverford couldn’t be happier with the Phillie’s entry into the World Series, writes Pete Bannan for the Daily Times.

“We’re a true mom-and-pop store and it’s a good spot to be in right now,” said owner Carl Henderson.

The playoff run has been a boon for the 27-year-old sports memorabilia store at 22 W. Eagle Road.

The store is known for hosting many Phillies players for autograph signings.

“We had (Phillies pitcher) Zach Wheeler here back in August right before he went on the disabled list and we must have had a thousand people here,” said Henderson.

Manager Charlie Manuel’s been in for signings many times, as has 2008 hero Matt Stairs.

Henderson’s talking now with Phillies pitcher Connor Brogdon’s mom about having him visit.

You won’t find Phillies shirts and hats at Carl’s Cards and Collectibles, but you will find plenty of other Phillies memorabilia, including flags and bracelets.

Many of his customers just want to talk about that home run.

“This is like Cheers here, without the alcohol. It’s a sports haven,” he said.
