Aqua Pennsylvania has announced a $1.6 million main replacement project is underway in Newtown Township. This investment is part of Aqua’s continuing infrastructure improvement program to improve reliability for customers throughout Delaware County.

Crews recently began working to replace 4,670 feet of aging six- and eight-inch water mains with new eight-inch ductile iron water main on West Chester Pike between Media Line Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue.

Aqua’s work is expected to be completed by the end of October. Final road restoration is expected to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.

The new Newtown Township water main project will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water and improve water flow in the area.

Aqua Pennsylvania serves approximately 1.5 million people in 32 counties throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Visit AquaAmerica.com for more information or follow Aqua on Facebook at facebook.com/MyAquaAmerica and on Twitter at @MyAquaAmerica.
