Wawa is celebrating the 58th anniversary of opening its first store opening April 16, 1964 in Folsom with several Wawa Day events and actions, starting with free coffee on April 14.
On Thursday, customers can get a free coffee, any size, at any Wawa store.
April 14 also marks the anniversary of the 2014 launch of The Wawa Foundation, a nonprofit focusing on the company’s charitable giving.
To celebrate, Wawa is hosting a special event at its Boothwyn location, 2608 Chichester Avenue, with some activities branching out to other Wawa stores.
The Chichester High School Band will be on hand to warm up the crowd starting at 8 a.m.
Beginning at 9 a.m. in Boothwyn, Wawa leadership, customers, associates, local officials and local heroes will toast the community.
Highlights of Wawa Day on April 14 include:
- a Ceremonial Coffee Pour to kick off free coffee for everyone with an anticipated distribution of 2 million cups of coffee chain-wide.
