Just because you want a new career does not mean you are starting from square one. You have no doubt built up expertise in many areas that can lend to other fields. Your old career might not be right, but those skills could be perfect for a career you will enjoy.

Build Your Network

Having connections always makes it easier to get your foot in the door, so don’t neglect your network. Many of the connections you already have may have ties to the career you are interested in. Check who might have a history with companies similar to where you want to work and see if they can introduce you to more people knowledgeable in what interests you.

Take Classes to Build Your Skills
