It can be a bit overwhelming to have a bunch of names thrown at you all at once, but ice breakers like this can spare you confusion later on.

Ultimately, the tactic you go with will also hinge on the culture of the company. Some businesses are more formal and you need to be able to read the room. It is fine to take some time to assess the atmosphere of the office, but don’t allow yourself to start passing the same faces every day without knowing who they are.
