Penn State Brandywine is one of 19 Penn State Commonwealth Campuses across the state. It is located at 25 Yearsley Mill Road in Media.  It offers four-year baccalaureate degree programs in 14 fields of study and two associate degree programs.

The following positions in the Penn State system and at Penn State Brandywine are available:

PennTAP Technical Advisor

The Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) is looking for a Technical Advisor to join this growing program, working out of any of the Penn State campuses in the Southeast region of Pennsylvania. There is a potential to work remotely with limited on-campus meetings.

PennTAP provides Pennsylvania companies with technical assistance and access to Penn State’s talented faculty and students to solve business challenges.

The Technical Adviser will be responsible for relationship building with industry, project identification and implementation, reporting, student engagement and PennTAP liaison to Penn State faculty.

The Advisor will consult with client organizations to understand organizational issues and needs and provide consultation and training services.

The applicant will be trained on PennTAP Energy services and assist with audits at small to mid-sized manufacturers.

The Advisor will work closely with Penn State faculty and students to provide students with an opportunity to take their learning beyond the classroom into the manufacturing world to create new jobs and businesses.

The Advisor is part of a PennTAP team that maintains an uncompromising level of quality in all work assignments. They will follow up with clients to evaluate and ensure the effectiveness and return on investment of solutions they implement.

Attention to detail and ability to organize workload ensures that all projects are aligned with PennTAP and its objectives, and that deliverables meet time and budget requirements.

The position requires a Master’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The applicant should possess a technical background, be comfortable within industrial facilities, be a results-oriented team player that works well independently.

They should have strong management skills with an ability to organize a dynamic workload; be able to maintain professional relationships with peers, resource partners, vendors and clients; ability to collect, analyze and communicate information, data and make verbal recommendations; prepare formal reports; be able to analyze, prioritize and solve unique problems. 

Consulting experience with energy efficiency or pollution prevention is a plus.

A valid driver’s license and a background check is required. Some overnight travel is required.

Facilities Project Coordinator

Penn State’s Office of Physical Plant-Commonwealth Services (CWS) supports the facility needs of the University’s 28 campuses and research centers across the Commonwealth. The Facilities Project Coordinator is responsible for providing advice on all facility needs; establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, practices and procedures to ensure consistency in quality; managing all construction; and assisting in defining, prioritizing and managing major maintenance projects.

CWS is seeking a self-motivated individual with organizational and self-management skills experienced in construction project coordination & inspection.

The primary focus of this position will be Commonwealth Campuses with Housing and Food Services facilities including Abington, Altoona, Berks, Brandywine, Harrisburg, Hazleton, Mont Alto, and the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

The individual will be responsible for assisting: Project Managers in project development and management of University functions at various campus locations across the state, including new construction, renovations, alterations, and major maintenance.

They will provide coordination and construction inspection services at all projects within the assigned area from inception to completion; coordinate internal and external architectural, engineering, and other professional resources.

They will control schedules to ensure timely completion; control quality and costs; communicate with customers and staff; evaluate University facilities and grounds, making recommendations for solutions.

They will monitor campus activities for compliance with all state, federal, and municipal codes and regulations; participate in facility condition assessments and assist in the development of major maintenance needs and priorities.

This position may require managing the planning, design, and construction of small projects, as well as managing a program.

​The successful candidate must be dynamic have a positive attitude, exceptional customer services skills; excellent interpersonal, organizational written, and oral communication skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet required deadlines, be able to work independently, and embrace new opportunities.

The candidate must possess problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities and demonstrate a genuine appreciation of working with diverse audiences, be guided by ethical decision-making and demonstrate the ability to be a flexible and collaborative team member. 

Computer proficiency, Microsoft Office365 suite, and other business software are required.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Management or related discipline, plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3.

Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher-level jobs.

This job will require significant travel and overnight trips weekly.

Professional licensure as an Engineer or Architect is not required.

A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Special Events Coordinator, Brandywine Launchbox

Penn State Brandywine is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Special Events Coordinator for its Brandywine LaunchBox location in Lansdowne.

This position provides support to the Director of Workforce and Innovation.

Primary responsibilities include coordinating the LaunchBox programming calendar, managing logistics for in-person events, maintaining the LaunchBox social media accounts, serving as a LaunchBox ambassador at community events, and performing other duties as assigned by the Director.

A Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant experience preferred. Candidates must be well organized, demonstrate superior customer service skills, possess excellent attention to detail, and demonstrate proficiency in Office Word and Excel.

The work schedule will include evening and Saturday hours. This is a part-time hourly position.

This position requires successful completion of standard background checks in accordance with University policies.
