Villanova Alum Creates App to Network With Your Favorite Folks, All for Charity

By

Villanova University alum and restaurant owner Doug Guller has developed a networking app that lets you talk with your favorite person while raising money for charity, reports Alicia Vitarelli and the 6abc news staff.

The BidBid auction app was developed by Guller during the pandemic lockdowns.

College athletes can now get paid for their name, image and likeness. Building on that idea, Guller decided to create a space where users could earn money or grow their brand.

Users auction their time. The highest bidder gets a meeting with them in a coffee shop or virtual meeting.

“We’ve got executives, CEOs of companies, chefs, YouTubers, gamers, models, anyone who has built a career and wants to raise money for a particular charity,” Guller said.

“One football player is doing a BidBid experience. If you win the auction, you get to spend three to five hours actually going through the motions with him to properly throw a football and learn different football techniques.”

People bid for experiences like cooking classes, guitar lessons, career advice, and more.

A portion of the auction bid goes to the charity of the auction holder’s choice.
