Eight New COVID-19 Cases in Delaware County for June 23

One new COVID-19-related death was reported from Chester Wednesday, June 23, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,457 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 838 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

Eight new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported for Wednesday, June 23 since cases were last reported Monday, June 21 in Delaware County.

Total cases for June 23 is 49,855.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 755, affecting 11.62 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,502 cases reported, or 9.04 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 254,803 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 96.49 percent recovery rate.

  • 20 to 29: 8,425 cases
  • 30 to 39: 7,437 cases

  • 80 and over: 2,664 cases
